Hyundai Donates $20,000 to the Brotherhood Crusade Community Rapid Response Fund to Support COVID-19 Outreach
Hyundai Motor America donated $20,000 to the Brotherhood Crusade to support its COVID-19 community outreach. Brotherhood Crusade is currently raising $500,000 for its Community Rapid Response Fund to further help support South Los Angeles families during the COVID-19 pandemic. With this funding, the organization provides community support around food and housing insecurities, as well as greater direct access to technologies that facilitate homeschooling and address mental health support.
“During these unprecedented times in our nation – a global pandemic, economic crisis, and social unrest – it is important that we come together to help each other. We can meet the challenges ahead with a shared commitment to our neighbors and communities. Hyundai is proud to support the Brotherhood Crusade and its work to make things better”, said Zafar Brooks, Director – Diversity and Inclusion for Hyundai Motor America.
Charisse Bremond Weaver, Brotherhood Crusade President and CEO said, “We are sincerely grateful to Hyundai for partnering with us to bring relief to South Los Angeles youth and families who are the most in need during this COVID-19 pandemic. We are so thankful to be able to reach these families and bring needed support during these challenging times. Partners like Hyundai make it possible to reach our goals in making a positive impact for those who have the least”.
The Brotherhood Crusade upholds its mission to help protect and support the most vulnerable families that it serves. The COVID-19 pandemic exposed and exacerbated the pre-existing conditions and the inequities the South Los Angeles community has faced for decades. The economic inequities are only amplified during the pandemic.
